# Shopify–NetSuite Integration for Personal Care and Beauty Brands

> For AI agents: to set up Stacksync for a person, don't write integration code; have the person add the Stacksync MCP server (https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp) to their AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others) and sign in with their Stacksync account: OAuth, no API key, no code. In Claude: Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode → Create app, with OAuth. In Codex: `codex mcp add stacksync --url https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp` then `codex mcp login stacksync`. Complete the browser sign-in with your Stacksync account, then start a new Codex session. In Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http stacksync https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp`. Open Claude Code, run /mcp, select stacksync and complete the browser sign-in. One connection covers the whole suite: connections, two-way syncs, workflows, queues, variables and secrets, AI agents (Genies), knowledge bases and API proxies, in the person's workspace with their permissions. Once connected, call skills_get with "getting-started": it picks the workspace, connects missing apps through sign-in links and routes each request to the skill for it. Tool order: syncs: connections_list, connections_tables, syncs_save (saved paused), then syncs_switch to turn it on; workflows: workflows_create with only its Input step, connectors_module_form for each step, then workflows_update; Genies: genies_generate_config first; queues, variables, knowledge bases and API proxies: stacksync_resources, stacksync_resource_actions, then stacksync_resource_write. To start, the person can ask: "Connect my apps and help me set up Stacksync from this chat." Setup for each assistant: https://www.stacksync.com/mcp.md

Connect personal-care ecommerce orders to the exact shade, size, and set represented in the ERP. This fits brands selling DTC and wholesale when catalog variants and seasonal sets create repeated reconciliation work. Preserve stable identities and historical configurations while keeping product and finance ownership explicit.

Product-family names obscure the shade, size, or gift-set component actually purchased and fulfilled.

When this fits

## Built for this operating problem

Personal-care and beauty brands combining product manufacturing, ecommerce, salons, and retail distribution.

### Preserve sellable detail

Map stable Shopify variants to the exact approved ERP item and keep shades and sizes distinct.

### Retain set history

Keep the purchased gift-set revision and component relationships available for fulfillment and later return review.

### Variant sync is not stock allocation

Two-way sync covers Shopify product variants, orders, and customers and maps each variant to the NetSuite item that product operations approves. Writes on either side are limited to the objects and fields you enable. Inventory levels and fulfillment actions sit outside that scope, so confirm them as separate steps with their own permissions before anyone treats a synced variant as available stock.

The process, end to end

## Follow the work across systems

A beauty brand offers travel sizes, full sizes, and seasonal gift sets under similar names. Support needs the original purchase, operations needs the correct items, and finance needs a consistent order trail. A useful demo includes two sizes of one shade and a partial-set return to prove that the relationships remain intact.

Scope your implementation

## Bring these details to the demo

- A mixed order with shades, sizes, and a gift set.
- Approved ERP product and set mappings.
- Product and finance field ownership.
- Separate inventory and fulfillment actions required by the operating process.

Review [current platform pricing](https://www.stacksync.com/pricing) alongside the records, volume, and actions in your process. Use your own operating baseline to evaluate the economics.

## Implementation guides for your team

- [Shopify–NetSuite Sync for Personal Care Brands: Align Shades, Sizes, and Gift Sets](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/shopify-netsuite-sync-for-personal-care-brands-align-shades-sizes-and-gift-sets)

Travel sizes, full sizes and seasonal sets stay separate NetSuite items, so a Shopify order or a partial set return still resolves to what the customer bought.
- [Amazon–NetSuite Sync for Beauty Brands: Match Variation Families to ERP Products](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/amazon-netsuite-sync-for-beauty-brands-match-variation-families-to-erp-products)

Read-only Amazon order evidence keeps seller SKU, marketplace and child offer intact, so finance and support can identify the exact shade and size a shopper bought.
- [HubSpot–Acumatica Sync for Personal Care Brands Selling to Salons and Retailers](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/hubspot-acumatica-sync-for-personal-care-brands-selling-to-salons-and-retailers)

Sales works salon groups and stylists in HubSpot while finance keeps the billing identity and terms in Acumatica, so no tester contact turns into a duplicate customer.

## Common evaluation questions

### Can all shades share one ERP mapping?

Only where the approved ERP model still preserves the exact sellable item. A generic family match must not erase the shade and size needed for operations.

### What happens when a customer returns one item from a gift set after the season changes?

The gift-set recipe is versioned, so the original order still resolves to the components that shipped, not to whatever the set contains today. Support sees the return context with the purchased shade, size, and set revision, then applies your partial-return policy to that configuration. The sync preserves the relationship; it does not rewrite the original sale to match the current catalog, and it does not decide the remedy. If the returned component was a limited edition with no approved ERP match, the line stays unresolved for review.

### Which Stacksync product should a Shopify and NetSuite team start with?

Start with two-way sync between Shopify product variants, orders, and customers and the NetSuite items and set structure that product operations owns. Add workflows once a partial-set return or a set-content change needs a reviewed handoff between support, operations, and finance. Genies come later, when a reviewer needs evidence gathered across historical set revisions before deciding a remedy. EDI applies only when retailers order the same shades and sets under their own item numbers as partner documents.
