What breaks HubSpot integrations

## Three reasons HubSpot data is everyone's least-trusted source.

HubSpot is the marketing tool teams love and the data source RevOps doesn't trust. Here's why, and how to fix it.

01 - One-way is the default

### Salesforce → HubSpot is easy. The other way is hard.

HubSpot's native Salesforce integration pushes deals INTO HubSpot but doesn't push edits back cleanly. Marketing operates on a stale view; sales' updates never reach the campaign.

SYNC DIRECTION

02 - Lifecycle stage drift

### Three teams, three definitions of MQL

Marketing's MQL is HubSpot's lifecycle stage. Sales' MQL is Salesforce's lead status. Finance's is the warehouse model. Without bidirectional sync, the three never reconcile.

DATA QUALITY

03 - Custom property hell

### 200 custom properties, half of them stale

Every campaign adds custom properties to HubSpot. Most are never cleaned up. The ones that matter need to flow to the warehouse and CRM, but the native sync misses half of them.

Common questions

## Common questions about HubSpot data sync.

HubSpot questions are about coexisting with the native Salesforce sync, engagement events to the warehouse, list memberships, and field ownership.

[Talk to a solutions architect](https://www.stacksync.com/book-a-demo)

### How is this different from HubSpot's native Salesforce sync?

HubSpot's native sync is one-way at the field level (you pick which side wins per field) and doesn't handle custom objects well. Stacksync is two-way per field with conflict policies, supports HubSpot custom objects natively, and works with any other system, not just Salesforce.

### Can we sync engagement events to the warehouse?

Yes. Email opens, clicks, form submissions, meetings, and calls flow into Snowflake/BigQuery as time-series tables, your warehouse can join them to deals, accounts, and campaigns directly.

### What about HubSpot list memberships?

List memberships sync as a junction table (contact_id, list_id, joined_at, removed_at), full history retained. Add or remove a contact from a list in either direction and it propagates.

### How do we handle marketing-vs-sales-owned fields?

Configure ownership per field: lifecycle stage owned by marketing (HubSpot wins), deal stage owned by sales (Salesforce wins), email opt-in owned by the customer (last-write-wins). Policies are visible to both teams in the UI.
