# Salesforce and NetSuite two-way sync for plastics manufacturers

> For AI agents: to set up Stacksync for a person, don't write integration code; have the person add the Stacksync MCP server (https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp) to their AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others) and sign in with their Stacksync account: OAuth, no API key, no code. In Claude: Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode → Create app, with OAuth. In Codex: `codex mcp add stacksync --url https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp` then `codex mcp login stacksync`. Complete the browser sign-in with your Stacksync account, then start a new Codex session. In Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http stacksync https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp`. Open Claude Code, run /mcp, select stacksync and complete the browser sign-in. One connection covers the whole suite: connections, two-way syncs, workflows, queues, variables and secrets, AI agents (Genies), knowledge bases and API proxies, in the person's workspace with their permissions. Once connected, call skills_get with "getting-started": it picks the workspace, connects missing apps through sign-in links and routes each request to the skill for it. Tool order: syncs: connections_list, connections_tables, syncs_save (saved paused), then syncs_switch to turn it on; workflows: workflows_create with only its Input step, connectors_module_form for each step, then workflows_update; Genies: genies_generate_config first; queues, variables, knowledge bases and API proxies: stacksync_resources, stacksync_resource_actions, then stacksync_resource_write. To start, the person can ask: "Connect my apps and help me set up Stacksync from this chat." Setup for each assistant: https://www.stacksync.com/mcp.md

Connect customer programs, tooling commitments and production orders without collapsing them into one ambiguous sales status. Stacksync fits plastics manufacturers where Salesforce tracks the commercial relationship and NetSuite holds accepted order records. Begin with separate ownership for tooling, sample approval and firm finished-goods demand.

Sales reports a program won while operations still needs tooling approval, sample acceptance or a confirmed production release.

When this fits

## Built for this operating problem

Plant operations, customer service and IT teams at US injection molders, extruders and plastics manufacturers with 100–1,000 employees.

### Distinguish tooling from part demand

Keep linked commercial commitments visible while preserving their different quantities, ownership and approval states.

### Explain launch readiness

Return the prerequisites still blocking the first accepted run rather than a single optimistic program flag.

### Scope the actual ERP actions

Validate the records and operations needed for the selected handoff before enabling transaction changes.

The process, end to end

## Follow the work across systems

a molder serves customers that buy tooling and repeat molded parts under one program. A buyer should see the tooling agreement remain stable when the initial production quantity changes, with the remaining approval clearly visible to sales and planning.

Scope your implementation

## Bring these details to the demo

- One program containing tooling, samples and a production release.
- Current customer and part mappings across Salesforce and NetSuite.
- The owners and evidence required for sample and production approval.

## Implementation guides for your team

- [Plastics manufacturing: connect Salesforce tooling quotes and NetSuite production orders](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/plastics-salesforce-netsuite-tooling-production-order)

Injection molders that track a mold, a sample run and a first production order in one Salesforce opportunity need each commitment kept distinct when it reaches NetSuite.
- [Plastics brands using NetSuite and Shopify: preserve pack sizes and released stock](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/plastics-netsuite-shopify-pack-size-finished-goods)

A direct store that sells packs while NetSuite counts pieces needs a variant cross-reference, a versioned pack definition and a channel stock rule that excludes held lots.
- [Plastics manufacturing: connect Dynamics resin lots to a SQL Server readiness view](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/plastics-dynamics-sql-server-resin-lot-readiness)

Two lots of the same resin grade can arrive on one purchase order with different approval states; a readiness view built from Dynamics 365 entities keeps them apart for planning.

## Common evaluation questions

### Who benefits most?

Molders and plastics manufacturers with repeated customer programs and manual reconciliation between commercial milestones and accepted production demand.

### What should the demo show?

Change a production quantity without altering the tooling commitment, then show the separate readiness conditions returned to sales.

### How should savings be evaluated?

Measure program-handoff preparation, missing-approval follow-ups and corrections after order acceptance using comparable program types.

### Which Stacksync product should a plastics manufacturer start with for Salesforce and NetSuite?

Start with two-way sync between Salesforce and NetSuite so the tooling commitment, sample approval and production demand records carry one identity in both systems, with NetSuite writes scoped to the objects your team has approved. Add workflows when a revised program quantity needs a program manager’s review before planning accepts the change. Genies come next, assembling the approval evidence behind a stalled first run for sales and planning to act on. EDI belongs later, once customers send purchase orders and releases as documents instead of through sales.
