# Salesforce MCP integration.

> For AI agents: this guide describes connecting an AI client to Stacksync at https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp with OAuth and the person's workspace permissions. Follow the client-specific setup and connection method on this page. Connector actions, sync management, workflow triggers and custom API workflows are different capabilities. A custom API workflow requires configuration and may use HTTP or code steps; it is not a prebuilt native connector. Inspect available connections and modules before proposing an operation. The example outcomes are illustrative, not execution results. Setup reference: https://www.stacksync.com/mcp.md

Use Stacksync MCP to inspect Salesforce connections and available actions, plan syncs with a database or CRM, and investigate sync issues from your AI assistant. Salesforce object access and each operation still depend on your connected account.

## What Salesforce can do through MCP

Use Stacksync MCP to inspect Salesforce connections and available actions, plan syncs with a database or CRM, and investigate sync issues from your AI assistant. Salesforce object access and each operation still depend on your connected account. Choose an AI client below to get started with the Stacksync MCP server.

The server belongs to Stacksync. The available Salesforce operations depend on your connection, permissions, and connector modules.

02 / Capabilities

## Salesforce capabilities through MCP

Choose the connection path that fits the job. Your assistant inspects the available tools before configuring or running an action.

Connector actions

### Inspect Salesforce actions

Find the Salesforce modules available in your workspace, inspect their required fields and identify the connection each action will use.

Sync management

### Plan a Salesforce sync

Read the exposed object and field names, choose record matching and table direction, then prepare the sync configuration for review.

Sync management

### Diagnose failed records

Inspect sync health and grouped record errors before choosing whether a retry, revert or ignore is appropriate.

03 / Setup

## Set up your AI client

Connect the MCP server first. Then connect Salesforce using the requirements below.

One connection. Your workspace.

### Bring your AI assistant.

Add Stacksync’s MCP server, sign in with OAuth, and choose your workspace. Your assistant works with your Stacksync permissions.

```
https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp
```

[Create a Stacksync account](https://app.stacksync.com/signup)

Already have an account? Sign in when your assistant opens the authorization page. Choose read-only access if you only need to inspect your workspace.

#### Chat assistantClaude

Connect Claude on the web or desktop to Stacksync through a custom connector and browser sign-in.

#### Before you start

04 / Put it to work

## Salesforce workflow prompts

Example prompts for Salesforce. The outcomes describe what to expect, not results from your account. Review the proposed configuration before running it.

01

Sync management

### Plan a Salesforce reporting replica

> Inspect my Salesforce and PostgreSQL connections and any existing sync between them. Discover the available Salesforce objects and PostgreSQL tables. Propose a one-way Salesforce-to-PostgreSQL sync for the account and opportunity data I select, including record IDs, initial-copy scope and destination permissions. Ask me to confirm the object mappings before saving or starting anything.

#### What to expect

A proposed reporting sync with explicit objects, matching keys and initial-copy scope.

02

Sync management

### Investigate Salesforce sync failures

> Find my Salesforce syncs and read their current issues. Group failures by cause and show the affected mappings and record IDs. Propose the smallest correction and explain when retry, revert or ignore would be appropriate. Do not resolve issues or change a mapping until I choose the action.

#### What to expect

A diagnosis tied to actual sync issues and a reviewable recovery plan.

03

Connector actions

### Prepare a Salesforce account task

> Inspect the Salesforce connector actions and my connection. If an account lookup action is available, show its required inputs and propose a lookup for the account identifier I provide. If it is unavailable, explain the missing capability. Prepare any follow-up record update as a separate proposal with the record ID and field changes; do not run it yet.

#### What to expect

A verified action choice and an explicit proposal for one Salesforce account.

05 / Before you run

## Requirements and limitations

### What you need

- Connect your AI client to Stacksync MCP, sign in and select the workspace before inspecting its resources.
- Reuse an authorized app connection or open the secure connection link from Stacksync. Enter credentials in the connection form, never in the chat.
- A Salesforce account with API access and access to the objects and fields you plan to use.

### What to account for

- Available actions depend on the live connector catalog, your connected account and MCP Gateway Policies. Inspect the action and its form before using it.
- Some Salesforce objects cannot be synced; the connector documentation calls out write and change-detection restrictions. Validate custom objects against the live table list.
- Per-field sync direction and association settings require the Stacksync web app; configuring a sync does not itself query Salesforce record values.

### Your workspace. Your permissions.

OAuth access follows your Stacksync role. Choose read-only access during sign-in when appropriate. Workspace owners can enable “Ask before every change”; it is a configurable setting. Direct connector actions also follow gateway policies.

[Read about permissions and approvals ↗](https://docs.stacksync.com/mcp/governance)

### If setup does not work

The MCP server does not appear

Check your client’s custom MCP settings and any plan or administrator prerequisites. Reconnect using the setup instructions above.

Your workspace or app is missing

Verify the Stacksync account and workspace selected during OAuth, then inspect the workspace’s connections. Add missing app credentials through the secure connection flow.

An action is unavailable or denied

Inspect the current connector modules and required inputs. Check your workspace role, read-only consent, gateway policy, and the source app’s API permissions.

06 / Common questions

## Salesforce MCP questions

### Does Stacksync MCP give an AI assistant access to every Salesforce object?

No. The assistant uses your Stacksync role, the Salesforce connection’s access and the available connector modules. Sync support also varies by object; inspect the live schema before promising access to a custom object.

### Can I use Salesforce data in PostgreSQL?

Yes, the documented Stacksync Salesforce and PostgreSQL sync path supports this architecture. Choose direction and field mapping deliberately. Reading sync configuration is different from querying the copied records.

### Will the sample prompts update Salesforce immediately?

These prompts request inspection and a proposal before changes. The server’s separate Ask before every change setting can enforce confirmation for changes; it is off by default.
