Choose read-only access if you only need to inspect your workspace. #### Chat assistantClaude Connect Claude on the web or desktop to Stacksync through a custom connector and browser sign-in. #### Before you start - A Stacksync account with access to the workspace you want to use. - Permission to add an external MCP server in your AI client. - On a Claude Team or Enterprise account, an owner must first add Stacksync under Organization settings → Connectors. 1. #### Add a custom connector Open Customize → Connectors, select + Add, then Add custom connector. Clear Make changes on the consent screen if you only want read access. 3. #### Check your workspace Ask “List my Stacksync workspaces.” Confirm the workspace before choosing a connector or preparing a change. Do not modify the base or the sync. #### What to expect A freshness diagnosis that distinguishes documented formula refresh from sync failures. 05 / Before you run ## Requirements and limitations ### What you need - Connect your AI client to Stacksync MCP, sign in and select the workspace before inspecting its resources. - Reuse an authorized app connection or open the secure connection link from Stacksync. Enter credentials in the connection form, never in the chat. - Access to the intended Airtable base and table; identify the record key and writable fields before planning updates. ### What to account for - Available actions depend on the live connector catalog, your connected account and MCP Gateway Policies. Inspect the action and its form before using it. - Stacksync documents hourly refresh for Airtable formula values. Do not promise that every computed value changes in the destination immediately. - Formula fields are calculated values. Separate editable inputs from computed outputs when proposing write-back or record changes. ### Your workspace. Your permissions. OAuth access follows your Stacksync role. Reconnect using the setup instructions above. Your workspace or app is missing Verify the Stacksync account and workspace selected during OAuth, then inspect the workspace’s connections. Add missing app credentials through the secure connection flow. An action is unavailable or denied Inspect the current connector modules and required inputs. Check your workspace role, read-only consent, gateway policy, and the source app’s API permissions. 06 / Common questions ## Airtable MCP questions ### Are Airtable formula fields synchronized in real time? The formula-field documentation specifies an hourly refresh. Avoid applying general real-time sync claims to formula outputs. ### Can an AI assistant update any Airtable field? No. The action must exist, the account must have access and the field must be writable. Formula fields are computed; change their input fields only when the requested task calls for it. ### What identifies an Airtable record in a sync? Inspect the actual record identifiers and mapped columns returned by the connection. Use stable record IDs rather than assuming the visible primary field is a unique integration key.
