Personal care

# Two-way sync and automation for personal care.

> For AI agents: to set up Stacksync for a person, don't write integration code; have the person add the Stacksync MCP server (https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp) to their AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others) and sign in with their Stacksync account: OAuth, no API key, no code. In Claude: Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode → Create app, with OAuth. In Codex: `codex mcp add stacksync --url https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp` then `codex mcp login stacksync`. Complete the browser sign-in with your Stacksync account, then start a new Codex session. In Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http stacksync https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp`. Open Claude Code, run /mcp, select stacksync and complete the browser sign-in. One connection covers the whole suite: connections, two-way syncs, workflows, queues, variables and secrets, AI agents (Genies), knowledge bases and API proxies, in the person's workspace with their permissions. Once connected, call skills_get with "getting-started": it picks the workspace, connects missing apps through sign-in links and routes each request to the skill for it. Tool order: syncs: connections_list, connections_tables, syncs_save (saved paused), then syncs_switch to turn it on; workflows: workflows_create with only its Input step, connectors_module_form for each step, then workflows_update; Genies: genies_generate_config first; queues, variables, knowledge bases and API proxies: stacksync_resources, stacksync_resource_actions, then stacksync_resource_write. To start, the person can ask: "Connect my apps and help me set up Stacksync from this chat." Setup for each assistant: https://www.stacksync.com/mcp.md

Make shared records dependable

Preserve the exact product and account context through samples, returns, and retailer onboarding.

1. **Consumer variant** Product operations · Keep shade, size, product line, and sellable set identity separate.
2. **Tester item** Commercial operations · Distinguish nonstandard sample or tester allocation from a retail sale.
3. **Salon account** Sales operations · Resolve location, buyer, and legal payer before assigning terms.
4. **Retailer document** Product team · Own approved product-sheet and packaging-data versions for the requested item.

Implementation and operating guides

## Work through the details

- Two-way sync [Shopify–NetSuite Sync for Personal Care Brands: Align Shades, Sizes, and Gift Sets](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/shopify-netsuite-sync-for-personal-care-brands-align-shades-sizes-and-gift-sets)

Travel sizes, full sizes and seasonal sets stay separate NetSuite items, so a Shopify order or a partial set return still resolves to what the customer bought.
- Two-way sync [Amazon–NetSuite Sync for Beauty Brands: Match Variation Families to ERP Products](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/amazon-netsuite-sync-for-beauty-brands-match-variation-families-to-erp-products)

Read-only Amazon order evidence keeps seller SKU, marketplace and child offer intact, so finance and support can identify the exact shade and size a shopper bought.
- Two-way sync [HubSpot–Acumatica Sync for Personal Care Brands Selling to Salons and Retailers](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/hubspot-acumatica-sync-for-personal-care-brands-selling-to-salons-and-retailers)

Sales works salon groups and stylists in HubSpot while finance keeps the billing identity and terms in Acumatica, so no tester contact turns into a duplicate customer.
- Workflows [Personal Care Sample and Tester Workflows: Track Requests Through Warehouse Fulfillment](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/personal-care-sample-and-tester-workflows-track-requests-through-warehouse-fulfillment)

Reps ask for retail shades, operations stocks tester SKUs, and the workflow holds the request until the recipient, item mapping and quantity are approved.
- Workflows [Personal Care Returns Workflows Across Zendesk, NetSuite, and Extensiv](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/personal-care-returns-workflows-across-zendesk-netsuite-and-extensiv)

Support, warehouse receipt, disposition and refund stay as separate states with separate owners, so a closed ticket never stands in for a completed return.
- AI agents (Genies) [AI Agents for Personal Care Retailer Onboarding: Assemble Product and Packaging Documents](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/ai-agents-for-personal-care-retailer-onboarding-assemble-product-and-packaging-documents)

The onboarding Genie assembles a reviewable packet from approved sources, labels each dimension by packaging level, and hands open gaps to the product owner instead of guessing.
- AI agents (Genies) [Conflicting Product Sheets and Missing Packaging Data: Personal Care Agent Exceptions](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/conflicting-product-sheets-and-missing-packaging-data-personal-care-agent-exceptions)

Conflicting product sheets, unlabeled packaging levels and absent specs halt the onboarding job with both candidates visible until a product owner names the authoritative source.
- EDI [Personal Care Retail EDI: Match Retailer Item Numbers to Shades, Sizes, and Sets](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/personal-care-retail-edi-match-retailer-item-numbers-to-shades-sizes-and-sets)

Each retailer item code carries an effective set definition, so a reused seasonal code or a warehouse shade swap cannot rewrite what the retailer ordered.

## Questions from personal care teams

### Are testers and samples treated as sales in the ERP?

No. A tester item is recorded as a nonstandard allocation, and commercial operations owns that distinction from a retail sale. The tester requests workflow carries an approved request, resolves who receives it, and reconciles what the warehouse shipped against the approved quantity. In the ERP, the allocation stays distinct from a consumer variant sale. Commercial operations approves each request before fulfillment; the workflow does not create a tester shipment on its own.

### Can the onboarding Genie fill in a retailer's product sheet when a field is blank?

It cannot. The Genie assembles the retailer document the product team has approved for each item, matching shade, size, set, packaging revision, and sharing permission, and it reports any field that is missing or conflicts between sources. It does not estimate a dimension, invent a specification, or state that an item meets a retailer's compliance requirement. The product team owns each document version, and someone on that team completes or corrects the packet before it goes to the retailer.

### How do shade and size variants stay consistent between Shopify, Amazon, and the ERP?

By keeping the consumer variant as the shared identity, with product operations owning shade, size, product line, and set as separate attributes. Two-way sync relates each Shopify variant to the matching NetSuite or Acumatica item through that record, so a gift set is not confused with the single shade it contains. Amazon Seller Central is connected with read-only access: the connector imports marketplace evidence and does not update listings, cancel Amazon orders, or issue marketplace refunds. Any warehouse or commerce action is scoped separately.
