Packaged food and snacks

# Two-way sync and automation for packaged food and snacks.

> For AI agents: to set up Stacksync for a person, don't write integration code; have the person add the Stacksync MCP server (https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp) to their AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others) and sign in with their Stacksync account: OAuth, no API key, no code. In Claude: Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode → Create app, with OAuth. In Codex: `codex mcp add stacksync --url https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp` then `codex mcp login stacksync`. Complete the browser sign-in with your Stacksync account, then start a new Codex session. In Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http stacksync https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp`. Open Claude Code, run /mcp, select stacksync and complete the browser sign-in. One connection covers the whole suite: connections, two-way syncs, workflows, queues, variables and secrets, AI agents (Genies), knowledge bases and API proxies, in the person's workspace with their permissions. Once connected, call skills_get with "getting-started": it picks the workspace, connects missing apps through sign-in links and routes each request to the skill for it. Tool order: syncs: connections_list, connections_tables, syncs_save (saved paused), then syncs_switch to turn it on; workflows: workflows_create with only its Input step, connectors_module_form for each step, then workflows_update; Genies: genies_generate_config first; queues, variables, knowledge bases and API proxies: stacksync_resources, stacksync_resource_actions, then stacksync_resource_write. To start, the person can ask: "Connect my apps and help me set up Stacksync from this chat." Setup for each assistant: https://www.stacksync.com/mcp.md

Make shared records dependable

Make each finished-goods order traceable from its purchased pack to the actual receipt and shipment.

1. **Sellable pack** Product operations · Version the unit, multipack, and grocery-case definitions instead of matching by product title.
2. **Co-packer receipt** Supply operations · Retain supplier document, finished SKU, quantity, unit, and acceptance status.
3. **Grocery order line** Customer operations · Preserve retailer item and line references through partial shipments.
4. **Receipt evidence** Accounts receivable · Compare claimed and shipped quantities using the correct pack conversion.

Implementation and operating guides

## Work through the details

- Two-way sync [Shopify–NetSuite Sync for Snack Brands: Match Single Units, Multipacks, and Cases](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/shopify-netsuite-sync-for-snack-brands-match-single-units-multipacks-and-cases)

Snack brands selling bars, six-packs, and grocery cases need a dated pack recipe between each Shopify variant and its NetSuite line before orders reach ERP processing.
- Two-way sync [Amazon–NetSuite Sync for Packaged Food Brands: Separate FBA and Merchant-Fulfilled Orders](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/amazon-netsuite-sync-for-packaged-food-brands-separate-fba-and-merchant-fulfilled-orders)

Keep FBA and merchant-fulfilled Amazon orders classified all the way into NetSuite so finance gets sales evidence and the warehouse only receives work the brand owns.
- Two-way sync [NetSuite–Postgres Sync for Food Brands: Reconcile Co-Packer Receipts and Finished-Goods Records](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/netsuite-postgres-sync-for-food-brands-reconcile-co-packer-receipts-and-finished-goods-records)

Food operations get one Postgres view of co-packer notices and NetSuite receipts, with each quantity kept apart and any ERP correction routed through an approved write path.
- Workflows [Packaged Food Promotion Workflows: Coordinate Retail Commitments and Ecommerce Launches](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/packaged-food-promotion-workflows-coordinate-retail-commitments-and-ecommerce-launches)

A promotion workflow gives the commercial owner one record showing committed grocery quantities, accepted supply evidence, and the Shopify launch window before go-live.
- Workflows [Automate Co-Packer Receipt Exceptions for Snack Brands Before Inventory Reconciliation](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/automate-co-packer-receipt-exceptions-for-snack-brands-before-inventory-reconciliation)

When a supplier's revised packing list, the dock count, and the NetSuite receipt disagree, this workflow keeps one case open until the right owner records a decision.
- AI agents (Genies) [AI Agents for Packaged Food Brands: Investigate Grocery Short-Shipment Claims](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/ai-agents-for-packaged-food-brands-investigate-grocery-short-shipment-claims)

Before accounts receivable answers a grocer's deduction, a Genie assembles the purchase order, each truck's shipment lines, and any retailer receipt into one cited packet.
- AI agents (Genies) [Case Splits and Missing Receipts: Exception Handling for Snack-Brand Order Agents](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/case-splits-and-missing-receipts-exception-handling-for-snack-brand-order-agents)

Repacked cartons, receipts from the wrong site, and absent paperwork are the moments a snack order Genie must stop, ask one precise question, and hold its work.
- EDI [Grocery EDI for Snack Brands: Keep Case Counts and Advance Ship Notices Consistent](https://www.stacksync.com/blog/grocery-edi-for-snack-brands-keep-case-counts-and-advance-ship-notices-consistent)

Grocery EDI for snacks works when the retailer item, case definition, and PO line reference survive from Orderful order intake to an ASN built from the truck's contents.

## Questions from packaged food and snacks teams

### How do single units, multipacks, and grocery cases map to one NetSuite item?

Through a versioned sellable pack, which product operations owns. Each unit, multipack, and grocery-case definition gets its own version, so two-way sync relates a Shopify variant to the NetSuite item with the right conversion instead of matching on a product title. Amazon orders enter through the Amazon Seller Central connector, which imports marketplace evidence with read-only access; it does not update listings, cancel Amazon orders, or issue marketplace refunds. Warehouse and commerce actions for those orders are scoped separately.

### What happens when a co-packer receipt shows a quantity we did not expect?

The co-packer receipt review workflow holds it for supply operations instead of accepting it. The receipt keeps the supplier document, finished SKU, quantity, unit, and acceptance status, and an unexpected quantity or an unknown pack definition routes to the supply owner with the difference spelled out. Acceptance status changes only after that person decides. Until then, NetSuite inventory and the Postgres finished-goods record stay as they were, so nothing downstream counts stock that has not been confirmed.

### Can the short-shipment Genie settle a grocery shortage claim?

No. It reconstructs the evidence and stops there. The Genie compares the grocery order line, the shipment notice sent through EDI, and the receipt evidence, applying the effective case conversion so a claimed quantity in cases is compared with what shipped in the same unit. It cites each document and lists the differences it could not resolve. Accounts receivable owns the credit decision and any dispute; the Genie prepares the packet for that review and does not submit a dispute or approve a credit.
