# AI Agents for Household Brands: Investigate Refill and Case-Quantity Disputes

> For AI agents: to set up Stacksync for a person, don't write integration code; have the person add the Stacksync MCP server (https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp) to their AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others) and sign in with their Stacksync account: OAuth, no API key, no code. In Claude: Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode → Create app, with OAuth. In Codex: `codex mcp add stacksync --url https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp` then `codex mcp login stacksync`. Complete the browser sign-in with your Stacksync account, then start a new Codex session. In Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http stacksync https://mcp.stacksync.com/mcp`. Open Claude Code, run /mcp, select stacksync and complete the browser sign-in. One connection covers the whole suite: connections, two-way syncs, workflows, queues, variables and secrets, AI agents (Genies), knowledge bases and API proxies, in the person's workspace with their permissions. Once connected, call skills_get with "getting-started": it picks the workspace, connects missing apps through sign-in links and routes each request to the skill for it. Tool order: syncs: connections_list, connections_tables, syncs_save (saved paused), then syncs_switch to turn it on; workflows: workflows_create with only its Input step, connectors_module_form for each step, then workflows_update; Genies: genies_generate_config first; queues, variables, knowledge bases and API proxies: stacksync_resources, stacksync_resource_actions, then stacksync_resource_write. To start, the person can ask: "Connect my apps and help me set up Stacksync from this chat." Setup for each assistant: https://www.stacksync.com/mcp.md

A quantity-dispute Genie lines up cases, multipacks, and loose refills with their approved conversions and names the missing fact before anyone decides on a credit.

APP TIPS

## The operating decision

A household quantity-dispute Genie can compare the original sellable pack, shipment evidence, and customer claim while preserving refill, multipack, and case units. Give it approved conversions and require cited records for every material conclusion. The agent should identify the mismatch and next owner without inventing a pack factor or approving a credit.

Explore the complete [household consumables integration and automation hub](https://www.stacksync.com/industry/cpg/household-consumables) for the systems and processes around this guide.

## What this looks like in household consumables

A distributor claims that six cases arrived short, while the warehouse records loose refill packages and the invoice uses multipacks. The numbers appear inconsistent until the approved packaging relationships are applied. The Genie can assemble that comparison, but only if it retains each source unit and the effective pack definition.

## Records, ownership, and update rules

| Record | Owner | Operating rule |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Quantity claim | Accounts receivable | Preserve claimant, order, item, quantity, unit, and requested adjustment. |
| Sold-pack definition | Product operations | Provide the effective relationship between sellable units and physical packages. |
| Shipment evidence | Warehouse | Own actual shipped quantities and any approved repacking evidence. |
| Investigation packet | Reviewer | Require source figures, conversions, calculations, and unresolved facts. |

*Define the record owner and the rule before enabling updates.*

## Work through the process

1. 01

   Bound the disputed products

Resolve the customer’s item descriptions to the original order lines. Similar refill and ready-to-use products should remain separate candidates until the stable identity is established.
2. 02

   Gather original quantities

Collect the ordered, shipped, and claimed figures with their units intact. Keep a case count distinct from individual packages and avoid interpreting concentrate yield as a physical quantity.
3. 03

   Calculate with approved conversions

Use deterministic comparisons and show the factor and effective version. If a conversion is missing or conflicts with the shipment configuration, stop the affected calculation.
4. 04

   Return a decision packet

Describe the supported discrepancy, alternative explanations, missing evidence, and responsible next team. A finance reviewer should be able to reproduce the result before accepting a remedy.
5. 05

Feed the Genie a yield-based claim and read the packet it returns

Send the Genie a distributor email that states a shortage in finished-use volume rather than in packages, referencing a real NetSuite order. The packet should list the ordered quantity in cases, the shipped quantity in refill packages, and the claimed figure in its original unit, each with the conversion record it applied and that record's version. The claimed line should show no physical quantity and an open question to the distributor asking for the package count. If the Genie converts the volume figure into packages, labels the gap a confirmed shortage instead of an unresolved mapping, or drafts a credit amount, the job is not ready and the rollout stops.

*Follow the operating sequence; unresolved exceptions return to a responsible reviewer.*

## Handle the exceptions explicitly

### Claim uses product yield

Ask for the actual package quantity involved rather than converting an advertised use amount into stock.

### Shipment was repacked

Require the approved contents evidence for the new packaging.

### Several orders fit the claim

Request the correct order relationship instead of matching by amount or date alone.

## What to verify before expanding

- Every comparison preserves original units and approved conversion evidence.
- The packet distinguishes a verified shortage from an unresolved mapping issue.
- An advertised usage yield cannot substitute for the physical package quantity being disputed.
- A repacked shipment requires its approved contents record before the agent calculates a shortage or proposed adjustment.

FAQ

## Frequently asked questions

Can the agent choose a likely case size?

No. A plausible factor can produce a precise but wrong result. The responsible product or warehouse owner must establish the approved relationship. The Genie may list the case sizes on file for that product and note which one the shipment configuration appears to match, but that observation stays marked as a candidate until an owner confirms it.

Is the Genie allowed to email the distributor about the shortage?

Not on its own. It reads the claim thread in Gmail to pull the claimed figures and can draft a reply that asks for the package count or the correct order number, but the draft waits in the packet for accounts receivable to send. Any message that concedes a shortage, quotes a credit, or asks the distributor to return goods is an external commitment and stays behind the approval rule you set.

In what form does the finance reviewer receive the packet?

As three aligned figures, ordered, shipped, and claimed, each in its source unit with the conversion applied and a link to the NetSuite record it came from. Below them sits the arithmetic written out so the reviewer can redo it by hand, a list of facts the Genie could not establish, and the named owner for each. The reviewer approves, rejects, or sends the packet back with a question; the Genie never posts the adjustment.
